Event Date and Venue
The 2023 US Kayak Polo National Championship will take place on the weekend of September 23-24, 2023, at the ACA Lake Sebago camp, New York.
Where the games will be played: The Sebago Boat Launch
Travel directions:
This is the entrance gate to the event venue. Put directions for the Lake Sebago Boat Launch. You will see this gate on your left once you turn from Seven Lakes Dr on your way to the boat launch.
Where everything else will happen: The ACA Sebago Camp
Travel directions:
This is the entrance gate to the camp road. You will see this gate after you turn on road “Ruby Jolliffe way“. Follow signs for SB-2.
Divisions
There needs to be at least 3 teams in a division, for it to be considered.
Division A (Most skilled): Early bird registration ends August 31st
Division B: Early bird registration ends August 31st
Women’s Division (If enough interest): Early bird registration ends August 31st
Youth Division (If enough interest): Early bird registration ends August 31st

Event rules
- Parking
- We will get private grass land access to park cars alongside a private road leading to the pitch area
- The gate will be closed and manned by a volunteer to ensure only our attendees get access to this area.
- Public cars non-related to our event are not allowed in this area
- Access pass will be sent to participants who are bringing cars
- If you are staying at the camp overnight, then you have the option to park there
- Avoid parking at the public boat launch. It’s far from the pitch anyway
- Avoid parking on the Seven Lakes Drive road
- Avoid using the public boat launch. It’s far from the pitch anyway
- We don’t have permit for alcoholic beverages
- Clean up! You are responsible for cleaning up after yourself during the event.
- The park area where the venue is located will also be open to the public. Be nice, you are advertising our sport!
Camp Rules
- Checkout the ACA Camp rules page
- Each person accessing the ACA camp should pay the camp fees (this is part of your individual registration)
- Each participant will need to Clean, Drain and Dry any kayaks (that have been used in another waterbody) brought to the Sebago lake prior to loading
- Each participant should Clean, Drain and Dry boats before moving their boats from Lake Sebago to another waterbody.
- People can’t hang around, leave kayaks, or other stuff on the ACA camp docks.
- You may not leave your kayaks on the water or on the dock for any reason. Place your kayak out of any paths, and at the designated area per team

Gear rental
Do you need gear rental?
We have a very limited number of composite boats that some of our players may be willing to loan out, but plenty of plastic boats (mostly Vuvubats and Geckos), plus carbon/fiberglass paddles, polo helmets with face guards, spraydecks, and PFDs.

Travel
Airport Transportation: Not provided. Not guaranteed. Can be offered. Ask nicely, and we will do our best!
Airport options close to the venue:
1. Newark: Closer to the venue if using public transportation.
2. JFK: In NYC.
3. Laguardia: In NYC.
4. Stewart: Closer to the venue if using a car. Otherwise it’s a bit complicated if using public transportation.
Travel directions:
Google directions depending on the airport you’ll be using. If using public transportation, then the town you should be coming to is Sloatsburg, NY. From there you can take a ride to the venue (Uber, or coordinate with someone).
Lodging
Available lodging options at or around the event venue:
1. ACA Sebago camp rustic cabins: If interested, and spots still available, then make sure to answer the related question in the individual registration
2. Sebago Cabins: These cabins are at a different campground, but on the same side of the lake as the pitch location. They have many cabins available, and it’s only a short drive (or paddle) to the main venue, and where the banquet will be. Find availability here.
3. Camping in the area (You can google campgrounds in the area)
4. Airbnb in the area
5. Hotels in the area
6. Friends in the area (NYC is 45min away with no traffic)
Food
On the day food: Sandwiches, drinks (water, soft drinks, sports drinks), snacks (sweet and salted)
